Arrest & Charge for Violent Offender |
||
Yesterday (25th July), your local ward officers were out on patrol around Westminster Cathedral when they spotted a male who they knew was in breach of his Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO). He had been served the CBO only last week, having served a sentence for a violent assault on a local Police Community Support Officer in 2024. Officers swiftly arrested the male and took him to custody for breaching his CBO. Whilst in police detention at hospital (due to his intoxication), he assaulted 4 police officers over the course of 6 hours. This included spitting in one officer’s eye, kicking one and headbutting another. He also subjected one officer to a tirade of racial abuse. Following a long shift and hard work from the team, Mark MANDERS, of No Fixed Abode, was charged with three counts of Assaulting an Emergency Worker and two counts of breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order. He was remanded in custody to court today (Sunday), where he was further remanded ahead of future court hearings. The arrest was a full team effort which not only required the courage and determination of the arresting officers but also the meticulous and swift support work of other officers which ensured MANDERS was remanded and charged. Assaults on our colleagues are completely unacceptable; thankfully none of the officers have suffered any sustained injuries. Your local officers continue to work tirelessly to take violent offenders off our streets in order to keep our community safe. PS Ronnie Henderson 317AW
